What Rough Beast | Poem for April 6, 2017

Laura Winkelspecht
Meanwhile in the Heartland

Rural electrification
brought longer days
game shows
Rush Limbaugh,
but it didn’t stop
the highway bypass
the mill from closing,
or the resentment
spreading like rust.
