What Rough Beast | Poem for January 17, 2018

Bridget Langdon
Division

Order becomes
oppression, individuality becomes
chaos, conviction becomes
intolerance, belief becomes
fact, enlightenment becomes
blindness, inquiries become
ignorance. Humanity becomes
divided.

We are
imprisoned by our freedoms,
we are
finite, only human,
we are
wrong in our need to be right.
