The HIV Here & Now Project

logoThe HIV Here & Now Project (a project of Indolent Books) uses literary arts to advocate for a world without HIV or AIDS.

The HIV Here & Now website is home to the HIV Here & Now Poem-a-Day project, a one-year countdown in poems to 35 years of AIDS on June 5, 2016.

The countdown is now behind us, and we move on to developing the HIV Here & Now Print Poetry Anthology (which someday will have an actual title). Different from the online countdown, the print anthology will include new or recent poems that address HIV either directly or indirectly, literally or metaphorically. Poems will address long-term survival, recent infection, racialization of HIV, criminalization of HIV, globalization of HIV, and living with HIV risk, among other topics. Submissions are ongoing and can be made via our Submittable site.

Finally, we have our blog, where our team of Contributing Editors writes about the politics, sociology, and culture of HIV from a range of perspectives.

Our mission is always expanding—to new media, new audiences, new goals and objectives. Follow us, join us, live, learn, struggle, and love with us.
