What Rough Beast | Poem for May 30, 2018

Eileen Tabios
from “HAY(NA)KU DEATH POEMS”
—written in the “reverse hay(na)ku” form to visually manifest disappearance

#15

From your vantage
point, windows
bring

in the outside
for your
enjoyment

until the bird
crashes against
such

a clear pane
windexed for
clarity—

You are reminded
of your
cruel

hypocrisy in creating
this bloody
Anthropocene
